You can click on this picture to make it bigger but the reason that I have included it here is that it shows a folding toilet and wash basin. This picture was taken on the overnight train from Chicago to LA. I would love to be able to get something of this sort for a boat, it would save so much space. If it were designed well so the front panel was completely smooth it would make using the head as a shower compartment too a real possibility. On small boats right now without a separate shower the toilet gets all messed up if you attempt to shower. I know that compromises have to be made on small boats but there has to be a better way. The nearest thing to this that I have seen on a boat is the fold up sinks that were commonly in use in submarines back in the day.
If anyone knows where or if any such toilet and or sink combos are made I would love to hear of it.
Take a look at www.ShipmateStove.com
Three different folding sinks in the works with the first due out in March.

In the late 80's my O'Day 40 had a folding sink above a covered toilet. The teak plywood box top folded up revealing the bowel and pumps and covered up the bowel when not in use. Another teak panel folded down with a small SS bowel and flexible plumbing. Fold everything up, put the cushion on the seat top and the head was hidden. Not the best if you had company in the aft cabin and you had a stinker, but handy never the less.
